Application To The National Architect: Affiliates

APPLICATION FOR AFFILIATION TO THE NATIONAL ARCHITECT CORPORATION

Please respond fully to the application. Analysis will take several days.

The National Architect Corporation, by design, and the nature of the marketplace we serve, best matches up with designers who for whatever reason do not fit with the classical career development path. Whatever that might be (perhaps: first professional bachelor's degree straight out of college, internship in a medium sized firm, licensure, associateship, partner...).....that may not be how you have arrived at this point.

Our profession attracts, and must continue to attract, people who do not fit the classic mold, but demonstrate leadership skills for reasons as varied as the number of architects in the United States. We welcome the rising star, the top flight award winning designer and his or her firm, the envy of all who know you......and.....

We are really especially suited for the person who is leaving full time practice to start a family; has tried to find the perfect large or medium sized firm but hasn't yet; is just coming back into the profession after a break; is semi-retired; is striving for licensure but working independently; is going through personal or family trauma and is just struggling to stay sane, get back from a devastating divorce, or must shift focus because the professional life or personal has cratered your hopes and ambitions.

All this to say that when you get to the references and credit part of the application, our selection criteria is not to look for all the bad signs we can and reject people with blemishes. Those who are succeeding at this profession do so because of their integrity, their commitment to quality services to their clients; loyalty to ethics; and a drive for life and delight in service. The top professionals in the field by public measures are there because if the sacrifices of everyone else.

We are looking for the gifted professional who may not fit the predicated path, or look, dress, or speak like the traditional architect. That path they have traveled is distinguished by personal integrity.

We will find those professionals, and be teamed with them, because by linking all of us, our clients and communities will be able to go to the unconventional, the fresh approach, the place where invention occurs and greater value is found and unleashed. Economies need risk takers, people who have battled their way through bad events, bad luck, corruption to see their way to insure their project gets built, correctly.

Don't hesitate to apply. You are not being comparative judged, but measured more on whether you do what you say you will do, no matter what comes up.

Thanks!
